What to do if...

Engine won't start - Check kill cord is attached. Try bilge blower. Check fuel. Signal other boats for a tow.
☐
Taking on water - Stay calm. Put on life jacket. Try to stay with the vessel - it floats even capsized. Signal for help.
☐
Person in water - Approach from downwind. Keep engine OFF near swimmer. Throw rope or use ski nose. Call 000 if injured.
☐
Someone injured - Keep them still. Apply pressure to bleeding. Stay with them. Call 000. Note your GPS location.
☐
Lost / disoriented - Stay where you are. Signal passing boats. Use your phone maps to identify landmarks. Call VMR.
☐
Out of fuel - Don't panic. Signal for help or call VMR. Paddle or use life jacket as signal. Stay with vessel.
